My first plenary wheel has been so successful that I’ve developed a sequel!
Get both wheels now for a discounted price and have all your plenaries sorted for the academic year! NO PLANNING NEEDED!
I’ve also included my Starter Activity Generator. This does require minimal planning but is a great template to have.
Enjoy!
If you liked the first Plenary Wheel, things just got even better!! Version 2 is here, all new, USE ALONGSIDE VERSION ONE, NOT INSTEAD OF!! All your plenaries will be planned for months to come, if not longer!! See a video preview below BEFORE choosing to buy this TOP quality resource.
Interactive, fun and engaging. A perfect end to the lesson!
The plenary wheel is a PowerPoint file with a rotating wheel. Ask one of your students to shout STOP to select how the lesson ends. NO PLANNING involved. Just open the file and let your students decide.
This wheel is the sequel to my original plenary wheel - it contains 8 NEW PLENARY activities that focus on the question “What have I learnt today”. It’s not a rebrand - so if you want both look for my bundle and then you’ll have SIXTEEN plenary activities - that’s your academic year sorted!
The plenaries are:
60 seconds - tell a partner what you’ve learnt in a minute - timers includes.
Picture review - draw how you feel/what you’ve learnt - template/handout included (print a bank of these ready!).
Emoji review - select an emoji to summarise your learning today - template included if required (black and white or colour).
Text message - write a reply to the text on the slide.
4-3-1, my take on the 5-5-1 review - write four sentences then whittle it down to just 1 word to summarise today’s lesson. Handout included, again print a stack ready!
Red, Amber, Green - three sentence review of your learning today.
Tell me three - answer the three summary questions about today’s learning.
Status update - write a social media status to summarise your learning today.
Macros must be enabled for the wheel to function, though the plenary activities can still be viewed without the wheel spinning (less exciting!).
Enjoy!
Everything you need to teach Sole traders and teach it well - perfect for an observation.
Differentiated learning outcomes included on the presentation. The presentation would also be useful printed as some stage for revision for your learners.
The two activities include sorting advantages and disadvantages of sole trader ownership and an extended writing question. The lesson includes marking sheets that have space to match the work completed in this lesson to success criteria and space to give WWW and EBi (gap task).
This really is value for money. To get even more value, use the plenary from the last slide in some of your other lessons - it's not lesson specific and is quite a nice end to any lesson.
Enjoy!

This is a FULL lesson; ideally a 'double' session. Starter, 2 main activities (including paired work), and a plenary. Includes a full lesson plan for your records or for whoever is observing you.

Computer Science/Computing/PSHE
This lesson introduces students to the different connections available for digital devices (wired and wireless connections). Students should mind map their own ideas first, before answers are revealed (click on the slide to reveal answers!).
Students must then research OR use the support sheet to group advantages and disadvantages of each connection type.
On the back page of the booklet is a review of the lesson where students must decide on the BEST method of connection; there are more answers, but the IDEAL answer is shown on the PowerPoint itself and students should be told this!
Enjoy!

Two activities to introduce five laws to students. I teach low ability GCSE Computer Science, and this is perfect for them. Specifically mapped to OCR Computer Science J276, though good for any lessons covering these five laws:
- Data Protection Act 1998
- Computer Misuse Act 1990
- Copyright Designs and Patents Act 1988
- Creative Commons Licensing
- Freedom of Information Act 2000
There are TWO activities here which make teaching this (slightly dull) topic easier.
1. Laws Jigsaw - Print on A3. Students cut out all pieces and connect to make 5 jigsaws, one about each law. There's an answer sheet which I stick at the front if students struggle they're allowed a peek!
2. Laws Summary - Students fill in the missing words. Answers are provided to discuss. There is also a help sheet with potential words to use; this is again stuck at the front and students are allowed one or two peeks whilst completing the task. There are TWO versions of the sheet, one with letter prompts to make it easier. The harder one is good because students often use different words, so good for discussion.
Enjoy.
This is another in my 'Let's Learn' series.
The lesson gets students to think about their initial ideas before introducing start-up and running costs so progress can easily be judged. The lesson PowerPoint is equally good for revision if printed or made available electronically so it's even more of a bargain!
There are two main activities (one is an exam style question assessment that can be peer marked with teacher guidance.
The lesson plan is included to guide teachers through every step of the lesson.
Enjoy!

2. Plenary Wheel - a FUN way of allowing your class to CHOOSE their own plenary! Fully resourced; students LOVE shouting STOP to select the end of their lesson. Great way to perk the class up towards the end of a lesson.

5. Key Terms Memory Challenge
6. 2nd Version of the Plenary Selector Wheel.

Here I've outlined one way to embed YouTube clips into your lesson PowerPoints. If this doesn't work, or is too complicated, search my resources for the other method!
These instructions go through step-by-step how to embed YouTube clips into PowerPoint. This is a temperamental process, so if it doesn't work, try my other method (don't feedback to tell me it doesn't work, it works for most!).
The videos are actually embedded into your presentation so there's no need to visit YouTube. You will need an internet connection when you play the presentation though.
Good luck! Enjoy...
This starter task introduces whether businesses OWN or OWE something. Essential when calculating working capital.
There's a PowerPoint with answers. I've also uploaded a Working Capital booklet in my free resources which would follow this starter nicely and be an almost entire lesson!
Enjoy.
Obviously I don't own the music, but it's a free resource!
A simple PowerPoint which gives your learners one minute to complete a task/discussion/thinking time.
Enjoy, for free!
I've been doing some work on planning for questioning and come up with this presentation as a tool to improve my questioning technique.
I plan the questions I am going to ask and use Pose, Pause, Pounce, Bounce (NOT MY IDEA!) - I think this is a concept from Teacher Toolkit, though I could be wrong. My idea is the planning tool and the wait time.
Teachers should write their planned questions on separate slides using the template, perhaps moving the circle in the top right hand corner to identify whether the question is open or closed (this helps me to ensure the majority of the questions I ask are open questions).
Use the tool for a starter or plenary by showing the question (by clicking the yellow POSE button). Allow 15 seconds thinking time (by clicking the PAUSE button), the soothing Jeopardy music will play. Click POUNCE to ask for an answer from the student and then BOUNCE to ask the student to select someone who will answer the next question (or the teacher could do this).
I hope this helps!
Enjoy.
An editable template for a great starter activity (or plenary/review!).
Simply change the questions on the wooden panels. Delete and resize if you need less panels.
The 2nd slide is differentiated, so the more challenging questions are at the end.
I don't own the format, obviously, so this resource is shared for free. I add the theme tune too, but for copyright reasons I can't share on TES!
Enjoy!
